To all those who have supported the Ambassadors, "Thank You" for investing in our lives.
As you know, and have also read in the book, A Life Worth Following, God has truly moved in and through us. In 2007, when this book arrived, we had no idea that it would serve as the catalyst to the OKC Ambassadors. If you were in the state of Oklahoma in 2002, you remember that June day, Justin, a graduated senior at Yukon High School, was named baseball player of the year for the state of Oklahoma. The very next day, he was killed when the back wheels of a semi-tractor trailer broke, crossed the median and struck his car. Even though Justin’s life was cut short, his legacy continues.
So far, we have distributed over 5500 books and sent them all across the country. The Ambassadors Baseball team has amazingly connected with elite baseball players all over the country. So far we have recruited some of the best baseball players in Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas. These elite high school players have been taught how to communicate their faith in Christ and have faithfully communicated God’s hope on and off the baseball field through Justin’s story to thousands of people all across the United States, Nicaragua and Mexico. The Ambassadors made a tremendous impact competing in tournaments across the southwest, conducting free baseball clinics, communicating the Gospel to teams and fans, and concluding each season with international mission trips to Nicaragua and Mexico. Here are some of the incredible results we experienced in the last three years:
At least 10,000 people heard the Gospel on baseball fields each year. Around 1000 kids have attended free Ambassador baseball clinics every year. We have seen hundreds of people give their lives to Christ each year and have helped 68 members of our team earn college baseball scholarships across the country. 3 Ambassadors have been drafted by Major League Baseball but more importantly, 73 young men are now life-long Ambassadors and are equipped to articulate their faith in a clear and compelling way.
Many of you reading this blog, gave to support this ministry. Your gift is helping to effectively spread the gospel and I want to thank you. I am amazed how God is continuing to use Justin’s life and our current Ambassadors to impact people across that country. We believe that God’s hand is on this ministry. He has faithfully opened a door for the gospel through His word, Justin’s life and our Ambassadors. This journey has been a step of faith for all of us and we have been amazed at how the Lord has provided.
I simply want to say "Thank you" for enabling us to share the gospel through our gifts on and off the baseball field. We could not have done it without you prayers and your financial support along the way.
Sincerely,
Chris Wall
